Emirates Canadian University College in Umm Al Quwain celebrated UAE flag in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, where he called on all departments, institutions and agencies to raise the flag of the UAE on November 1.
Major, Dr. Ali Al Jasmi launched the ceremony of UAE flag-raising at 11:00 am on the flagpole of the college, concurrently with all departments, institutions and federal ministries. Attended by all staff members, the event started with saluting the flag and playing the national anthem.
Dr. Galal Hatem, The president of the college, emphasized that UAE flag represents the dignity, pride and stability of all the people and residents of the country under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE may Allah save and bless him.
Dr Hatem said that this occasion is a continuous covenant to protect this flag, which reflects the union of this benevolent nation, and recommitment to defend the homeland with all our might.
It should be mentioned that souvenirs had been distributed to the local and federal departments in Umm Al Quwain before launching the ceremony.
