His Excellency Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Emirates Canadian University College «ECUC«, stressed the role played by the teaching staff at College, as they are deemed the mainstay in developing the educational & researching process. Al Shamsi also highlighted the fact that the advancement of education technologies entails that the academic professor upgrades his educational abilities & researching skills.
This took place during a meeting between Al Shamsi and the new teaching staff who joined «ECUC« for the current academic year. The meeting was attended by Professor Galal Hatem, the Dean of «ECUC«, heads of departments, the registrar general, and members of «ECUC« administrative staff.
Al Shamsi said that the development of knowledge- based economy, growth of new industries & state-of-the-art technologies, and the emergence of the quality concept in higher education institutions are all matters which underlines the significance of continuous upgrading of teaching staff 's abilities & skills, which will in turn reflect positively on the scientific researches & the student who is considered the final product that is targeted by «ECUC«. He added that this upgrading will also meet the futuristic needs of labor market.
He also noted that upgrading the academic performance of teaching staff goes in tandem with the general tendency of education in the country, which relies basically upon creativity & innovation, extrapolates future, and adopts the values of competitiveness.
From his part, Professor Galal Hatem expressed his deep thanks to Al Shamsis for the palpable efforts that he exerts & the extensive development that «ECUC« witnesses due to his valuable contribution. Hatem also welcomed the new teaching staff and conveyed them his gratitude for choosing to join «ECUC«.
Hatem stated that the affiliation of this salient scientific constellation to «ECUC« members is a real addition which strengthens the endeavor of scientific & research development in the College, & supports its plans & strategies to boost the educational process & community service in the context of establishing an educational ambience that attracts students in a manner which encourages them to effective involvement & participation in the educational process, as they considered the main targeted axis by all «ECUC« plans & services in both of academic & administrative aspects.
