At the Conclusion of Umm Al Quwain Book Fair 2019, Aspirations to Double Publishing Houses 

 

The closing day of UAQ Book Fair was marked by a huge turnout of visitors, with an estimated 500 visitors from various community categories .More than 23 local publishing houses participated in the first edition of the book fair organized by Umm Al Quwain University.

Dr. Galal Hatem, Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, said that Umm Al Quwain Book Fair - 2019 was a cultural festival and a significant event that impressed and satisfied all visitors. He thanked the organizing committee members, saying, "You worked as a wonderful team creating a brilliant and beautiful painting," and thanked all those who had contributed to the success of the event.

 

Dr. Ali Al-Jasmi, Chairman of the organizing committee, said that UAQ Book Fair has achieved its expected goal, and it was a good occasion for local publishing houses to participate in the dissemination of knowledge, that was reflected in the big number of visitors to the book fair. 

In the same context, the Director of the College Library and Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Hind Al Ameri, said that UAQU seeks to increase the number of publishing houses participating in the coming book fair to form a forum for intellectuals and writers in order to achieve the Emirate objectives. Mrs. Hind added that, there were some cultural events on the sidelines of the fair, including signing some books, seminars, and allocating a space for children. And she promised to increase these activities and programs in upcoming editions.
