Emirates Canadian University College, in coordination with the Civil Defense in Um Al Quwain, carried out evacuation exercises on how to use fire extinguishers, where administrative and academic staff participated in the training session. 

Dr. Galal Hatem, President of the College, said that evacuation exercises are carried out, in cooperation with UAQ Civil Defense throughout the year to ensure a safe work environment free of threats and accidents. He added that ECUC evacuation team is on standby in case of emergency and immediate response to fire alarms.

Evacuation operations are based on the implementation of all the rules followed in case of a fire, starting from the immediate reporting of the incident and evacuating the building, going to assembly points, and identifying the inhabitants number to make sure that no body was left inside, then the process of civil defense vehicles and emergency teams arrival to the building. The building shall be thoroughly searched to ensure people safety, assist and rescue in case of injuries, and start the firefighting process.
