Dr. Galal Hatem, President of Umm Al Quwain University, and Dr. Haitham Al Samarrai, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, participated in the first conference organized by the Global Institute for Arabic Renewal in the city of Malaga, Spain in February.
Dr. Haitham Al-Samarrai presented his research paper on the use of interactive media in spreading and renewing culture Civilizational coexistence and the values of tolerance in the Arab world. Emirates as a model.
Dr. Galal Hatem, the head of the university’s delegation, stressed that economy has a major and pioneering role in renewing and supporting the methods of Arab renewal in various intellectual projects, noting that such projects are needed to build the new Arab Man who is able to face challenges, spread tolerance, and reject hatred.
Dr. Hatem said that the university, after its great achievements, is always looking forward to moving to a better future through the active communication with its counterparts from local, regional and global academic institutions, and this is the goal of such global conferences. He said that the university pays great attention to scientific and research efficiency, and works to attract students from different countries, where the university has students from various nationalities, who live in a community full of tolerance and coexistence. Umm Al Quwain University is characterized by a great cultural diversity, yet we are working hard to attract new students, to increase the spirit of tolerance and coexistence which has produced love and openness with others, and created a major part of the intercultural perspective of the United Arab Emirates.
Al Samarrai discussed in his paper the role played by the United Arab Emirates in spreading the culture of tolerance and coexistence, where UAE could achieve unprecedented global proportions in the principles of social justice and tolerance as a way of life and culture of a people.
The research paper included also the reality of the peaceful coexistence that is currently implemented by the UAE, in light of the country's diversity.
