Umm Al Quwain Traffic Police had a meeting with Emirates Canadian University College, represented by the students who have innovated the Smart Pedestrian footpath, to present their project to Colonel Saeed Obaid, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department and his deputy, Colonel Hamid Ahmed.
The meeting was attended by Lt. Col. Mohammed Obaid Al Muhairi, Head of Patrol Department, Captain Hassan Ahmed, Head of Accidents Branch, and First Lieutenant Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of Traffic Engineering.
It was suggested to try the students’ project on the main road near the college campus, aiming to encourage the innovation concept and its application, and consider it as a lifestyle within the integrated system followed by the UAE Government through its comprehensive strategy to enhance the role of innovation as a key of government development, and source of economic development, growth and community service.
